What is Thai Foot Massage?
Thai foot massage reflexology is based on the principle that there are reflex points in the feet which link to different organs in the body through the flow of energy along channels called meridians. When this energy is flowing we remain healthy, but if the energy flow is blocked which is possible by stress & tension or toxins in the body, dis-ease can result.
What happens during the treatment?
The reflexologist reduces tension in the body by working on these different reflex points. A reflex action in another part of the body is stimulated by the manipulation of each specific area. By relaxing you, this will in turn reduce stress and help the energy to flow freely around the body giving a sense of well-being. Unlike other massages that use thumbs, palms, hands, elbows, thai foot reflexology massage uses hands, fingers and a wooden stick with cream or oil and is a more vigorous treatment than reflexology although just as relaxing. According to Chinese medicine, the sensory nerves of the internal organs that spread throughout the body are mainly gathered around the soles of the feet. Therefore, the treatment is effective in stimulating the functions of the internal organs.
